About This Journey
Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple stands on a plateau in the Nallamala hills above the Krishna river at Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. It is also one of the eighteen Maha Shakti Peethas, for the goddess Bhramaramba. Few temples hold both. The complex lies inside the Nagarjunsagar-Srisailam Tiger Reserve. This Srisailam Mallikarjuna darshan package starts at Hyderabad airport, about 200 km and five hours away. Forest check posts on the ghat road close at night, so the drive is timed to arrive in daylight. Day 1 ends with evening darshan. Day 2 covers the Bhramaramba shrine, Sakshi Ganapati and the Srisailam dam viewpoint. Traditional dress is required for the sparsha darshan, when you touch the linga.
