About This Journey
The Manivedika Shakti Peeth, also called Manibandh, stands in Pushkar, near Ajmer in Rajasthan. Tradition holds that Sati's wrists fell here. The goddess is worshipped as Gayatri, with Sarvanand as her Bhairava. Pushkar also has one of the very few temples in India dedicated to Brahma, beside Pushkar Lake with its 52 ghats. The Savitri temple on Ratnagiri hill, reached by ropeway, looks over the town. This two-day journey starts at Jaipur airport, about 145 km and three hours away. Kishangarh airport is closer, about 45 km, but has fewer flights. Day 1 is darshan at Manivedika and the evening aarti at the lake. Day 2 covers the Brahma Temple and Savitri temple, then the drive back. The Pushkar fair in Kartik draws very large crowds.
