About This Journey
Baba Baidyanath Dham stands in Deoghar, Jharkhand, and most traditions count it among the twelve Jyotirlingas. The name means the lord of physicians. Tradition holds that Ravana carried the linga from Kailash and set it down here. He could not lift it again. The complex holds 22 temples, and the goddess Jayadurga's shrine faces Shiva's. Parli Vaijnath in Maharashtra also claims this Jyotirlinga. This Baidyanath Dham darshan package gives you two days and one night from Deoghar airport, about 12 km away. Day 1 is darshan and the evening shringar puja. Day 2 covers Basukinath, about 45 km away, then the drive back. During Shravan, kanwariyas walk about 105 km from Sultanganj carrying Ganga water. Crowds then run into the lakhs.
