About This Temple
Devi Talab Mandir stands beside a large tank in the centre of Jalandhar, Punjab. Tradition holds that Sati's left breast fell here. The goddess is Tripurmalini, with Bhishan as her Bhairava. The present gold-domed structure is modern. A replica of the Amarnath cave stands inside the complex. Each December the Devi Talab Shakti Peeth hosts the Harivallabh Sangeet Sammelan, one of India's oldest classical music festivals.
