About This Temple
Trimbakeshwar Temple stands at the foot of Brahmagiri hill in Nashik district, Maharashtra, near the source of the Godavari. It is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. The linga here is unusual. It sits in a hollow holding three small lingas, read as Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. The black basalt temple was rebuilt in the 18th century under the Peshwa Balaji Bajirao.
