About This Temple

The Jayadurga Shakti Peeth lies inside the Baba Baidyanath Dham complex in Deoghar, Jharkhand. Tradition holds that Sati's heart fell here, which is why the site is also called Hridaya Peeth. The goddess is Jayadurga, with Vaidyanath, the Jyotirlinga, as her Bhairava. Her shrine faces Shiva's, and the two spires are tied together with red cloth. Couples tie a thread between them in the gathbandhan ritual, asking blessings for their marriage.

Day-by-day sacred itinerary will be customized to your darshan schedule and arrival timings.
