About This Journey
Bahula Devi Temple stands at Ketugram in Purba Bardhaman district, West Bengal, near the town of Katwa. Tradition holds that Sati's left arm fell here. The goddess is Bahula, with Bhiruk as her Bhairava. The Bahula Shakti Peeth is a simple village shrine. Katwa, the nearest town, sits where the Ajay river meets the Bhagirathi. This two-day journey starts at Kolkata airport, about 170 km and four to five hours away. You can pair it with two other pithas in the same district. Ujani, where Mangal Chandika is worshipped, and Kshirgram, home of Yugadya, are both within reach. Day 1 is the drive and Bahula darshan, with the night in Katwa or Bardhaman. Day 2 covers Kshirgram before the drive back. Katwa has direct trains from Howrah.
