About This Temple
Yugadya Temple stands at Kshirgram in Purba Bardhaman district, West Bengal. Tradition holds that the big toe of Sati's right foot fell here. The goddess is Yugadya, also called Bhutadhatri, with Kshir Kantak as her Bhairava. The main image of the Yugadya Shakti Peeth is kept under water in the Kshir Dighi pond for most of the year. It is brought out for worship only on a few fixed days. On ordinary days you see the temple and the pond, not the image.
