About This Temple

Shri Parvat Shakti Peeth appears in the Tantra lists as the place where Sati's right anklet fell. The goddess is Shri Sundari, with Sundaranand as her Bhairava. Its location is disputed. Some traditions place it in Ladakh. Others link it to Srisailam in Andhra Pradesh, where Bhramaramba is worshipped beside the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga. A third view places it near Sylhet in Bangladesh. No single temple is accepted by all. For pilgrims, Srisailam is the practical choice. It is about 200 km from Hyderabad airport through the Nallamala forest. There a Jyotirlinga and one of the eighteen Maha Shakti Peethas stand in the same complex. The forest ghat road closes at night, so plan to arrive in daylight.

Day-by-day sacred itinerary will be customized to your darshan schedule and arrival timings.
