About This Temple

The Chattal Shakti Peeth is identified with the shrines on Chandranath Hill above Sitakunda in Chattogram (Chittagong) district, Bangladesh. Tradition holds that Sati's right arm fell here. The goddess is Bhavani, with Chandrashekhar as her Bhairava. The Chandranath temple sits on the hilltop at about 300 m. The climb takes one to two hours on steps and forest paths. The Shivaratri fair at Sitakunda draws very large crowds. Indian pilgrims need a Bangladesh visa. Chattogram airport, about 40 km away, has flights from Dhaka. From Tripura, the Akhaura land border near Agartala leads to Chattogram by road in around six hours. Allow three days in all. Check visa rules before you plan.

Day-by-day sacred itinerary will be customized to your darshan schedule and arrival timings.
