About This Temple

Vishnu Doul is a historic temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu, situated on the northern bank of Sivasagar Lake right alongside Siva Doul. Built in 1734 AD by Ahom Queen Ambika, the temple reflects traditional Ahom architectural elegance with honeycomb carved brick walls and stone foundations. The central sanctum houses sacred images of Lord Vishnu. The surrounding lawns along the quiet lake bank provide a serene spot for morning walks and spiritual reflection while touring the royal Ahom capital. Devotees visiting Sivasagar often spend quiet time in reflection here while exploring the grand royal Ahom lake monument complex.
