About This Temple
Hatimura Temple is an important historic Shakti shrine situated at Silghat in Nagaon district, near the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River. Constructed in 1745 AD during the reign of Ahom King Pramatta Singha, the temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga in her Mahishamardini (demon slayer) form. The stone sanctum houses a carved ten-armed idol of Goddess Durga slaying Mahishasura. Located near the scenic Kolia Bhomora Setu bridge connecting Nagaon and Tezpur, Hatimura Temple has long served as an important center for Navratri worship in central Assam.
