Basistha Ashram and Temple is a peaceful place in the hills of Guwahati, Assam. It is closely connected with Sage Vashistha, who is believed to have lived and meditated here. The ashram is located near the meeting point of three streams called Sandhya, Lalita and Kanta. The present temple was built during the Ahom period in the 18th century.
